AOC is awesome! An historical parallel for me would be Bella Abzug. A cautionary tale. AOC is in a safe seat. she could move up the house leadership Bella Abzug was in that position. Se lost a Senate primary to Moynahan, who beat Jim Buckey. The she was in a primary for Mayor, Ed Koch won. She was behind mayor Beam in the race, Beam was a dead man waking. Do you think AOC can win a state wide race?

If the Progressives want to effect the Democratic Party in NYC they have challenge the Party apparatus in each county by running Progressive judges and judicial delegates. The courts are the cash cow, the profit centers, for the Party. Everything up to now has been skirmishing by picking off low hanging fruit. Go for the courts and watch the backlash. A real fight to the death!

AOC should stay in Congress for at least one more term. A more logical progression would be running for mayor or governor down the line. Her power base is to small currently. She has a good rep and has backing from the left but that will not carry her statewide yet.

2 questions, Ross: 1) With Trump hysteria infecting the minds of establishment Dems and establishment Dem voters, would you say, Ross, that AOC is trying to finesse things for now and then come out swinging under a Biden presidency in 2021? Question 2) Assuming she doesn't challenge Schumer in 2022, which race would she try to leverage the most? 2021 mayor? 2022 governor? 2023 Queens DA with Tiffany Caban presumably running again versus Melinda Katz? What's her long game here?
