Assuming the Post story is 100% correct, we’re long past the point that issue of whether Old Joe did anything of any importance wrong was resolved long ago. Whether Hunter did anything wrong to any significant degree is pretty much irrelevant generally more so in a campaign against a sitting POTUS who has used his position for personal monetary gain like none of his predecessors and, more importantly, has directly caused the deaths - that is, killed — over a hundred thousand Americans and allowed his party to severely weaken the economy but for the special interests who the state has ensured has done well in the crises. And we’re to think a sketchy drug addict is any sort of important issue? Seriously?

As for the social networks: unless I missed something, no one has a right to post or, once posting, control the post. So the Post’s postings got blocked or whatever for a day or so from two social networks while echoed nearly everywhere else; BFD. (That said, someone explain the importance of a right to post.)

And as for the importance of social networks as a disseminator of news: well, the big problem is that corporate media, in their greed, have grossly mismanaged their businesses and produced shitty journalism making mainstream reporting pretty worthless.

If Trump wins because of another goddamn email scandal I'm ending it all right then and there. That seems to not be the case so far.

Do break up the social media giants (and just drive a gasoline truck into Twitter servers in general- you really minimize its outsized role in elite discourse and making the lives of ordinary people miserable via doxxing and toxic fandoms). But this makes me conflicted. These tactics have been used to far less fanfare and awareness to left-wing news sources, but this story was a rush job at its very best. And given that it's the Nazi Post, it's probably not a best-case scenario. This is a rag that recently took a five-second clip from a New York Assemblymember's Facebook Live video and wrote an article about the quote in it completely out of context. Never mind that it was a video that was about how out-of-line it was for a different publication to bring up her arrest for a disciplinary tactic against her son, a thing that she has since moved on from and served her time in the negative spotlight.

I want to say a disclaimer would be the right thing to do, but the people who are into this story wouldn't give a shit about that, so this is the least bad of a variety of bad, immediate options.
