You may not have noticed, but a WHOLE lot of wealthy people and companies are already baling out of high tax areas like CA, NY, Chicago etc.
In fact, for most people and companies today it makes little or no sense to stay where taxes are higher. The value of proximity has declined substantially as the last year has taught us. Heck, my OWN company went from a mandatory in the office every day policy to the point we are now closing our offices completely and going 100% remote. In less than a year that is what happened.
NOW, a large part of our staff either have moved or are looking to move to places like FL, TX even CO and MT. Nobody is moving TO NY or TO Boston or TO California. Arizona is on the list.
We even now have staff that are looking to work from outside the country. All you need is broadband. My uncle, one of those billionaires your talking about has already up and moved and indeed spends more time outside the country than in it.
As for the news? The answer is insanely simple. Stop publishing slanted news stories that all want to virtue signal, push and agenda or editorialize and give us USEFUL information that allows us to make informed decisions regarding our lives. Give us information, over broad subject areas, that is well reported, clearly unbiased and informative. Do that over and over and become really reliable and people will pay for that. Give us horse shit opinion pieces over and over and we are not. I do not need your opinion or other peoples opinions, I need good information that I can consume readily and that is actionable in my life. THAT I will pay for. Kill off the columns and the editorials. Give me good and accurate information that is fully vetted and reliable and do it over and over. I will pay for that. I WONT pay for hype and political opinion and spin and BS.
