Thoughtful piece, Ross. It should also be noted that the fully volunteer, fully grassroots nature of DSA leaves it potentially prone to burnout (especially if we're looking at 4 years or more of Trump and more running uphill). Having a sizable cohort of active DSA'ers in the NYS legislature (and in all likelihood, the City Council come next year) will keep the sizable New York chapters afloat, but what about elsewhere?

A great distillation of where DSA has been and where it is going, at least to a long-lapsed leftist who recently joined DSA. My only misgiving is the competitive tone regarding WFP. To a somewhat outsider, this sounds petty and somewhat random. Perhaps I'm naive and don't get the nuances, but I applaud any party or organization on the left right now regardless of their media strategy or "branding."
